The Innocent Murderer

To avoid being arrested and put on trial for trying to kill Lincoln, John Surratt runs away from Canada and travels to Liverpool, England.

In order to escape prosecution and trial for the attempted assassination of Lincoln, John Surratt flees from Canada and makes his way to Liverpool, England.

The sole conspirator of the Abraham Lincoln assassination escapes and makes plans to travel the world, hoping he will never be recognized. But neither his guilt nor his capture can be assuaged.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
