The Intruder

A father who works as a scientist gets stunned when his college-age son comes back from spring break and tells him he's actually an alien creature. The father then must make a tough choice when someone asks him to trade his wife to save his real son, who is trapped in another world.

Dr. Phillip Melville, a nationally famous astro-electronic engineer, and his bride, Dorothy, a leading author, discover that their son, Robby, home from college, is not their son. He looks like Robby, but hes from another dimension, representing a planet whose race is dying out. He has been instructed to return to his planet with Dorothy, whose body and brains will insure the continuation of his species. If she refuses, the Melvilles will never see their son again.

A scientist is shocked when his college son, fresh from spring break reveals that he is an alien being. He is then faced with a moral dilemma when he is asked to make a trade- his wife for the life of his real son, who is being held captive in another dimension.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
