The Last Orbit

Commander Emmett Rockwell is getting old when a beautiful red-haired woman gets on his shuttle. She tells him he must keep a terrible promise he made long ago to a dangerous alien woman from Sirius. Rockwell fights to remember what he agreed to do, and he's scared it might be real. This could ruin his last mission and put his co-pilot's life in danger.

The aging Commander Emmett Rockwell confronts an alluring red-haired stranger aboard the shuttle, who demands he fulfill a dark promise made years ago to an alien temptress from Sirius. His urgent struggle to recall the bargain he fears is real threatens his final flight—and the life of his co-pilot.

Astronaut Emmett Rockwell notices Luna during a bash thrown in his honor. When she reminds him of a long-forgotten promise he made to her, he has a nagging suspicion that she is telling the truth. But the valiant leader finds his life in jeopardy when he underestimates a woman’s wrath and attempts to renege on the agreement.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
