The Locked Room

When Davey Snowden marries wealthy (but homely) Bonnie Daniels, he anticipates moving into her family’s mansion and recovering the fortune he imagines lies in a tightly locked room. Stymied by Bonnie’s formidable mother, he plays a trick which not only causes him to lose both Bonnie and her fortune, but to realize only too late that his mother-in-law is not through with him yet.

A newlywed woman's mother believes her plain daughter's husband only married her for money, so the mother plots a cruel scheme against him.

The bride's mother plays villain in the life of a newly wed couple. She is convinced the boy has married her not-too-beautiful daughter simply for her wealth and plans a nasty surprise for him.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
