Senator Frank Stoddard wants to bring down crime leader Joe Bizette, but when someone who was helping him gets killed and Stoddard bravely keeps going with his hunt, he discovers that his growing success in politics is now working against him.
Senator Frank Stoddard is causing headlines with his subcommittee’s investigation of organized crime in the United States. The committee’s chief witness, Al Dorian, constantly takes the Fifth Amendment, but suddenly agrees to meet the senator secretly. When Stoddard arrives at their rendezvous, he finds Dorian dying from a bullet wound. But the gangster manages to tell Stoddard something that will make his road to the presidency a rocky one.
Ambitious Senator Frank Stoddard is determined to expose crime boss Joe Bizette, but after a key informant is murdered and Stoddard courageously insists on continuing the investigation, he finds his own rising political star is a liability.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
