The Luck Sisters
All the residents of Bullwer (pop. 100) look forward to becoming millionaires. Gold has been discovered in an abandoned mine that they own together. But Mayor Jeff McDowell and the town’s councilmen are worried. In the past, whenever something good was about to happen to the town, it didn’t—because, they sincerely believe, of Janice Hollings, a “bad luck” woman. When she can’t be persuaded to leave, they vote to take her life by dynamiting the house.
The 100 people living in Bullwer all dream of getting rich. They found gold in an old mine that belongs to everyone in town. But Mayor Jeff McDowell and the town council are scared. Every time something good was supposed to happen before, it went wrong—and they really think it's because of Janice Hollings, a woman they believe brings bad luck. When they can't talk her into leaving town, they decide to kill her by blowing up her house with dynamite.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
