The Magus

A young servant girl falls under the charms of a magus. She becomes entranced in his presence, forsaking her mother and would-be suitor.

The cook in the mansion owned by Adrian Storm is upset because of the influence he has over her daughter, Elly, whose job it is to wait on the master’s table. One day he asks Elly to carry a full-length mirror to his bedroom, claiming he will show her how he can cause his reflection in it to disappear. When he does, Elly panics and rushes to her mother, who calls his doctor, apparently the only one who can offer a rational explanation of Storm’s supernatural powers.

A teenage maid gets swept away by a powerful wizard. She becomes completely captivated by him and abandons her mother and the man who wants to marry her.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
