The Missing Day
Description
Art Cummings, the plant’s chief executive, while on his way home to celebrate his wedding anniversary, is hailed by a stranger who shoots him with a strong anesthetic. Cummings misses a whole day of his life during which a truckload of high-grade uranium being shipped from his plant is hijacked. Cummings, one of two people who knew about the shipment, can’t remember telling anyone about it. The local sheriff, though, is mighty suspicious: There was enough uranium in the truck to build half a nuclear bomb.
A nuclear research facility manager loses track of an entire day and must retrace what happened to figure out where his missing time went.
When he cannot account for a period in his life, the manager of a nuclear research facility must trace his steps to reclaim his missing day.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
