The Night We Died

A former soldier from the Moon War attempts to trick a woman whose husband died in battle, but both schemers try to outsmart each other in this space tale filled with betrayal and killing.

Toby Kane is called back to Earth from Mars by Sam Thumbs, who needs his help in selling a rich woman some phony asteroid mine stock. Kane changes his name and his face (by plastic surgery), but becomes suspicious when the women seems too easily convinced she should part with her money. When he learns that she and Thumbs are members of a group plotting a revolution on the moon, Kane joins the interplanetary police in a scheme to stop them.

It's con man versus con man in this sci-fi story of double-crossing and murder as a veteran of the Lunar Revolt tries to scam a war widow.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
