The Raft

When haunted by dreams of being castaway on a raft in the middle of the ocean, a wealthy man tries to connect his strange visions with the illogical demand of a stranger for the sum of one million dollars.

Peter Ordway, a millionaire many times over, suddenly begins receiving strange messages that say only one million dollars. His staff, thinking it is the work of a crackpot, is mystified when Ordway buys a gun. What they do not know is that Ordway made a million-dollar deal many years ago, and now someone wants to collect.

A rich man keeps having nightmares about being stranded alone on a raft at sea, and he tries to figure out why these weird dreams might be connected to a mysterious person who wants him to pay one million dollars for no clear reason.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
