The Recluse
After his grandmother passes away, a young man inherits the family inn and discovers what really happened to his missing father and the money that vanished when he disappeared.
Dr. Tom Lodge, while settling the estate of his recently deceased grandmother, tells his wife, Nancy, a family secret he has kept for six years—that his father had stolen $75,000 from the bank in which he worked and disappeared. While inspecting his grandfather’s large home, Tom discovers his father’s skeleton, the head of which had been bashed in. Patricia sees it as a clear case of murder and points out that if Tom can solve it, he might be able to clear his father’s name.
A young son learns of the fate of his late father as well as the fortune that went missing together with his disappearance after his grandmother dies, leaving him to inherit the family inn as well as the host of secrets it keeps.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
