The Senior Prom

Police investigate multiple female murders and find that all the victims had turned down the same man's prom invitation years ago in high school.

City Hall and the morning papers are after Lieutenant Holman for his inability to solve the murders of four East Side women in their thirties. He appears to get a break in the case when an intended fifth victim fights off the killer. But although top fashion designer Maggie Bridges got a look at her attacker, her upper-crust British background just doesn’t seem to fit the murderer’s M.O.

After looking closely into the death of several women, the police discover that the common denominator that ties them together was their rejection of a prom date during high school.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
