The Silver Medal
A woman revisits the icy slope where she lost her husband years before during their honeymoon.
New Englander Charles West takes his Mississippi-born wife Theodora to a cozy lodge at the base of a glacier. A little champagne and a charming scientist, Dr. Carl Cheney, convince West and his acrophobic wife to venture up to the glacier by cable car. But the Wests’ marriage looks like it is going to take a dangerous turn when the car stops in midair, dangling thousands of feet over the mountainside.
A wife returns to the frozen mountain where her husband died during their wedding trip years ago.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
