The Terrifying Gift

Martha Herriot, entering a fortuneteller’s parlor on a lark, is greeted by the owner as her long-lost granddaughter. After telling a nonplused Martha she now will have the ability to tell the future the old woman abruptly dies. Martha finds her new power so terrifying she threatens to kill herself to get rid of the rare talent.

After wandering into the den of a fortune teller, she is surprised by the woman's claims that she is her long lost granddaughter. With her dying breath the mystic gives her the ability to predict the future. She soon comes to realize that the gift comes with a heavy price.

A young woman stumbles into a psychic's shop, where the old woman shocks her by saying they are family - grandmother and granddaughter who were separated long ago. As the fortune teller dies, she passes on her power to see what will happen next. The woman quickly learns that knowing the future brings terrible consequences.
