The Tool Shed
In order to do a feature on him, a London Time's reporter travels to the countryside home of an author renowned for his occult-themed works. While there, he discovers the strange sketches in the tool shed and meets the farm's eccentric inhabitants.
A newspaper writer from London goes to visit a famous author who writes spooky books at his country house. The reporter wants to write a story about the author, but while he's there, he finds weird drawings in a barn and meets the odd people who live on the farm.
Martin Hazeltine has earned a fortune writing books on black magic and the occult. When Robinson Crane is assigned to interview him, the young journalist finds the Hazeltine family steeped in mystery. Why is the son perfectly healthy yet mute? Why does Mrs. Hazeltine refuse her husband any contact with the boy? What is the age-old “mark of the devil” doing on the floor of the child’s favorite playroom, the tool shed?
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
