The Trouble with Ruth
Despite her best attempts, a kleptomaniac falls back into her old ways and is found out by some thieves. They blackmail her to rob a diamond pin or they will reveal her true nature to her husband.
Following her latest detainment for shoplifting, Ruth, a young woman with a history of kleptomania, is confronted by two men who claim they will jeopardize her husband’s job if she doesn’t steal a diamond pin and turn it over to them. Ruth learns, however, that her husband has already explained about her kleptomania to his supervisors.
A woman who can't stop stealing tries to change her ways, but she gets caught by some crooks. The criminals force her to steal a valuable diamond pin by threatening to tell her husband about her stealing problem.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
