The Waiting Room

A cordial invitation from an elderly couple for a weekend stay at their mansion has sinister repercussions for a young couple. They have been baited for a deadly occult ritual dedicated to evil.

An older man and woman invite a young couple to spend the weekend at their big house, but the visit turns dangerous. The elderly pair has tricked them into coming so they can use them in a deadly devil worship ceremony.

Robert and Rhoda Carson invite Bert Thomas and Marty and Charlotte Lannings to their lush home, which is guarded by hostile pet birds. As the guests enjoy the Carsons’ luxurious home and pool, they become annoyed by the spying birds and their host’s insistent inquiries about their health. Then Bert, Marty and Charlotte learn to their horror that the Carsons intended to have their bodies inhabited by evil spirits, so history’s deceased villains can be reincarnated.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
