Kathy and Doug Sellars get new neighbors - a strange man and woman who move into the apartment next to theirs. Trouble begins when the man reveals he's a scientist who creates inventions and gives Doug a solar power device that could change the whole world.

A mysterious couple move into a flat next door to Kathy and Doug Sellars. Problems start when the husband, who turns out to be a scientist and inventor offers Doug a solar energy machine that can revolutionize the entire planet.

Doug Sellers encounters his neighbor Sid Jones, who demonstrates an innovative solar energy motor capable of enough power to pull a 15-car freight train. After Sid offers the device freely, Doug informs his boss, Mr. Driscoll, who views the technology as economically destabilizing. Driscoll subsequently accuses Sid of being a dangerous spy and arranges for his arrest.
