When a young Olympic swimmer suddenly disappears while visiting the library, her distraught family believes it to be a kidnapping. To solve the case, they must look to the tales of Edgar Allen Poe that the victim was obsessed with.

A distraught couple, Sid and Mollie Truesdale, plead with Sgt. Joe Keller of the Missing Persons Bureau to find their daughter, Margy, who has been missing for only four hours. Because Margy is beautiful and in training for the Olympics as a swimmer, Keller works extra hard on the case. The Trusedales offer little help, but a librarian does. She reveals that Margy’s favorite book is William Wilson and Other Stories by Edgar Allan Poe. “Brush up on your Poe…”
