Wise Child

A kindly couple come across an abandoned toddler at a hotel after a heavy storm and adopt it. But the baby never seems to grow older...

A nice husband and wife find a lost little child at a motel following a big storm and decide to raise the kid as their own. However, the child never appears to age...

Calvin and Joyce Spurlock are deliriously happy with their sudden parenthood. But, as the months go by and the baby doesn’t gain an ounce, they become frightened. Their fears mount when they read in a newspaper that the town near where they found the child is a dumping ground for atomic waste. Radioactivity may be preventing the baby from growing, but it—or the child—is strangely enough providing the Spurlocks with a power of insight they never had before.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
