Wuthering Heights
The prodigal son returns to the family homestead bent on siezing control from the relatives that treated him poorly as a youth.
A wayward son comes back to his family's property determined to take power away from the relatives who mistreated him when he was young.
All the elements of this literary masterpiece are here, beginning with Heathcliff's arrival at Wuthering Heights and the disruption he causes. Catherine soon forms a passionate attachment for the boy, which continues until she dies, even though she marries a neighbor, Edgar Linton. Heathcliff ultimately marries Linton's sister, and the gothic drama moves on to involve the next generation: Heathcliff's sickly son and Catherine's daughter and nephew.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
