Mutiny On The Penguin
Up in the frozen north, Sergeant Preston delivers mail to Captain Beaufort, who is stuck in ice on his ship called the Penguin. When the crew hears about gold being found in the Klondike, they decide to leave the ship. This leaves Sergeant Preston, Captain Beaufort, and his daughter alone on the Penguin as it catches fire. (Captain Beaufort is the person the Beaufort Sea was named after?)
Challenge of the Yukon is an American radio adventure series that began on Detroit's WXYZ and is an example of a Northern genre story. The series was first heard on January 3, 1939. The title changed from Challenge of the Yukon to Sergeant Preston of the Yukon in September 1950, and that title was retained through the end of the series and into a television adaptation.
