Don't Kick My Horse

Joby Turner's horse Belle might get taken away because she's hurt. Joby begs Captain Lee Quince to let him keep her, saying she's okay. Quince sees how much Joby loves his horse and waits to make the call because he doesn't want to break Joby's heart. But trouble is coming, and hard choices need to be made out on the frontier.

Joby Turner's horse, Belle, is set to be replaced for being lame. Joby pleads with Captain Lee Quince to keep her, claiming she's just fine. Quince, seeing Joby's deep bond, holds off on the order, wanting to spare Joby heartbreak. But with tensions rising, decisions loom on the frontier.

A soldier's love for his eleven-year-old horse gets the entire troop into danger when the Indians attack. A good story. The program was recorded May 3, 1956.

Fort Laramie is a CBS Radio Western series starring Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince. It aired Sunday afternoons January 22–October 28, 1956, at 5:30 pm ET. Produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, this Western drama depicted life at old Fort Laramie during the 19th Century. The 41 episodes starred Raymond Burr as Lee Quince, captain of the cavalry. One year later, Burr became a television star as Perry Mason.
