Jerry Cass plans to marry Bella Grant, a dance hall girl at the Long Branch. His brother Brisco Cass plans to stop the wedding, with lead if necessary. The script was used on the Gunsmoke television on April 25, 1959. This is the first show of the program's fourth season on the air, despite the announcement by William Conrad that "Gunsmoke is going into its second year on radio."

Gunsmoke is a media franchise centered around the American radio and television Western drama series created by director Norman Macdonnell and writer John Meston. It centered on Dodge City, Kansas, in the 1870s, during the settlement of the American West. The central character is lawman Marshal Matt Dillon, played by William Conrad on radio and James Arness on television.
