Trip To The Moon Orson Welles, Eddie Bracken, Johnny Mercer

Johnny Mercer performs the song "On The Atchison, Topeka and The Santa Fe." Eddie Bracken gets a medical checkup. Orson takes the audience on an imaginary "Rocket Trip To The Moon." He makes it clear that he's heading to the moon, not Mars, and gives a special warning to people living in New Jersey. Knox Manning plays a "reporter" who covers the rocket ship's takeoff. Orson's account of traveling through space sounds a lot like what real astronauts would say decades later. The actors also perform "The Rover Boys Down East," which is about a "Rescue On The River."
