Allen's Alley Begins
President Roosevelt and Mayor La Guardia compete to see who can brew the best coffee. The show takes a trip to Allen's Alley, which might be the first time visiting that location. Singer Josephine Huston performs the song "Grenada" as a guest. Actor George Jessel appears on the show and asks Fred to be part of his successful Broadway production. Later, Jessel performs a dramatic reading while Fred plays the clarinet to accompany him.
Texaco Star Theater is an American comedy-variety show, broadcast on radio from 1938 to 1949 and telecast from 1948 to 1956. It was one of the first successful examples of American television broadcasting, remembered as the show that gave Milton Berle the nickname "Mr. Television", and helping propel the sales of Televisions in the 1950s.
