Fred stops by Duffy's Tavern to see his guest Ed Gardner. While he's there, Archie attempts to help Fred take care of a traffic ticket by getting it taken care of. Meanwhile, on Allen's Alley, people are asked what they think about Benny Goodman deciding to break up his band. Senator Bloat, Mrs. Prawn, and Mr. Nussbaum all share their thoughts on the news.
Texaco Star Theater is an American comedy-variety show, broadcast on radio from 1938 to 1949 and telecast from 1948 to 1956. It was one of the first successful examples of American television broadcasting, remembered as the show that gave Milton Berle the nickname "Mr. Television", and helping propel the sales of Televisions in the 1950s.
