The town of Cheyenne decides to change its name to 'Lone Ranger Frontier Town' and makes the Lone Ranger the new mayor. Captain O. Z. Waters and His Colorado Rangers perform the song 'Oh, Susannah.' The episode shows how the Cavendish gang attacked the Texas Rangers by surprise. Tonto manages to save just one of the Rangers from danger. The episode also tells how the Lone Ranger first found his horse Silver and how he came to meet Dan Reid.
The Lone Ranger is a fictional masked former Texas Ranger who fought outlaws in the American Old West with his Native American friend Tonto. The character has been called an enduring icon of American culture.
