The Black Legion
The 157th running of the Epsom Downs Derby has taken place. A Brooklyn woman has won $150,000 through the Irish Sweepstakes lottery. The Dalai Lama passed away two years back, and now a boy who was born on that exact day is set to become Tibet's new leader. The 'Black Legion' scandal keeps getting bigger as twelve suspected terrorists show up in court. A fishing boat has gone missing, and the owners have filed a claim with Lloyd's of London insurance company. Later, the ship turns up, but then it gets away from Senegal.
The March of Time is an American newsreel series sponsored by Time Inc. and shown in movie theaters from 1935 to 1951. It was based on a radio news series broadcast from 1931 to 1945 that was produced by advertising agency Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn (BBDO). The "voice" of both series was Westbrook Van Voorhis. Produced and written by Louis de Rochemont and his brother Richard de Rochemont, The March of Time was recognized with an Academy Honorary Award in 1937.
