Cathy Safe From the Storm The Hitchhiker

# Radio Episode Plot Summary Outside, a terrible storm rages while Cathy sits in her bedroom at the farm with her newborn baby. Her husband Phil is there with her. They talk about what their son will do when he grows up and starts school. Phil says he wants to be there for his boy and help him get ready. He tells Cathy that when he was young, he spent too much time alone, which caused him problems. Cathy says she loves Phil very much and thanks him for helping her finish her schooling. She tells him that making him happy is all she wants. Phil tells her to think about herself too and to make sure she is happy. Cathy says she cannot be happy without him because that is who she is. She wishes she could always be with him and be part of him like his arm. Phil promises that she will always be with him as long as he lives. He says life has hurt him before, but he loves her just as much as she loves him. He tells her this kind of love is something he never thought could happen. At the same time, a man stops Harry Davis on the road and asks him for a ride to a gas station. The man says his car ran out of gas and tells Harry his name is Jake Smith. Then Jake pulls out a gun and tells Harry to drive wherever he says.
