A Christmas Carol

Description

On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge, a selfish, disagreeable London merchant, returns to his living quarters with no thought of celebrating the holiday season. When a request for charity is made of him in the name of his dead partner, he answers that the Christmas spirit is wasteful and foolish. Only after he goes to sleep and is visited by three apparitions does Scrooge change his mind.

On Christmas Eve, a mean and greedy London businessman named Ebenezer Scrooge goes home without caring about the holiday. When someone asks him to give money to help poor people in memory of his dead business partner, Scrooge says Christmas cheer is stupid and a waste of money. But after he falls asleep and three ghosts visit him, Scrooge decides to change his ways.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
