A Death of Kings
Description
An ambitious young graduate student, in an effort to win the affection of a professor's wife, suggests that he must die so that they can be together. A psychic experiment to absorb the professor's brilliance fails, resulting instead in a shattering of identities and a twist in the triangle of love and ambition.
A driven college student wants to win over his professor's married wife, so he tells her that her husband needs to die for them to be together. When he tries a supernatural experiment to steal the professor's genius, it backfires and splits their personalities apart, turning their love triangle into something much more twisted.
Professor Frederick Sparling keeps his startling scientific discovery secret because he fears whoever else knows it could destroy the world. His nagging wife is sick and tired of his unwillingness to assert himself—until the professor invites a brilliant but poor student to live with them. Soon, the student not only wants Emma, but also her husband's secret.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
