A House Divided
Description
In the turbulent world of 1917 America, District Attorney Augie Menon battles crime and corruption amid the start of World War I and Prohibition. His wife Claire is secretly in love with a gangster, and when Augie disappears, their children Aaron and Ellie suspect her of causing his death. Aaron, who has been secretly alive, assumes a new identity and plots revenge on the gangster.
The time is World War I, and "Big" Jim Allen, one of Chicago's most powerful gangsters, plots with District Attorney Augie Mennen's wife, Claire, to mow him down. Mennen's son Aaron and daughter Ellis determine to take the law into their own hands and avenge their father's death. But they must wait until Aaron's return from military service. The facial disfigurement he suffered from a bomb blast in France is most helpful. "Big" Jim does not recognize him nor does his mother.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
