A Man of Honor

Description

As Arthur spirals into despair, his wife Emma and their friend David Meyer try to bring him back to the surface. The couple's future daughter-in-law, Enid, enters with determination and warmth, and her loving persistence finally breaks through Arthur's fear of inadequacy and past mistakes, allowing love and healing to begin.

Arthur falls into deep sadness, so his wife Emma and friend David Meyer work to help him feel better. When Enid, who will marry into the family, shows up with a strong will and kind heart, she keeps trying to reach Arthur with love. Her caring efforts finally get past Arthur's worry that he's not good enough and his guilt about old mistakes, letting love and healing start.

One week from receiving the prestigious Braithwaite Award for his latest novel, Arthur decides to spend an hour alone after a beautiful day picnicking with his family. But when his wife calls him into the house, he is suddenly and radically different, and says he will refuse to accept his latest honor.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
