Description

Despite his mother's pleas to reconsider, young Addison Parker leaves his home in the South and joins the Fourth Indiana Infantry because, he says, his sympathies are with the North. Immediately he is ordered to don a Confederate uniform and go as a spy behind the Southern lines. His mission seems successful until a Confederate medic demands that he remove the bandage from the head wound he doesn't have.

A young man from a loyal Southern family decides to fight for the Union Army against his own people in this story based on William C. Haskell's novel. Caught between love for his family and what he believes is right, he must make the ultimate choice when he comes face to face with his father, a Confederate general.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
