Alicia Merriwether and Bruce Pennington agree to run away together, leaving their wealthy spouses. They plan to meet at night at a railroad station and take a train to New York, but Bruce doesn’t show up. While waiting, Alicia witnesses a murder, and the cabbie who drives her home afterward tells the police he picked her up at the scene of the crime. Accused of involvement in the killing, Alicia faces a dilemma. No matter what she tells the police, her life will be ruined.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
