Afraid to Live—Afraid to Die

Ellen Muir moves into the dark old Malvern Grange house where she must get used to living with her strict aunt Hester Milgram, along with cook Meg O'Meara and handyman Joe Wellman. Ellen becomes involved with the mysterious Madam Lytton, whose ghost cannot rest because a little boy went missing long ago. When Ellen hunts for answers and finds what happened to the boy, she frees Madam Lytton's spirit from the shame that kept her trapped.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
