Bet with Angels
Description
Jason Clark, a compulsive gambler, thinks he is getting tips from the spirit of his late friend Lou Marvin. But when his winning streak attracts the suspicion of two sinister men, he is forced to invent a story about a biorhythm system to explain his luck. When he finally loses, he vows to quit gambling and settle down with his fiancée Hillary.
Gambler Jason Clark believes his dead buddy Lou Marvin's ghost is giving him winning advice. When two dangerous guys get suspicious about his hot streak, Jason makes up a fake story about using body rhythms to pick winners. After he finally loses big, Jason promises to stop gambling and marry his girlfriend Hillary.
Advertising executive Jason Clark, as a show of friendship to his longtime pal, Lew Marvin, often joins him in his betting sprees, putting up a few dollars to Lew’s hundreds. Suddenly, Lew dies and Jason stops his wagering, until he begins to hear Lew’s voice instructing him how to bet. Soon he has made so much money (he never loses a wager) that his bookmakers get rough. They demand to know what he knows—or else.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
