Blind Witness

Description

A hired killer named Mule gets a job to kill Armand Ascalon, a druggist who's causing trouble for the city's criminals. Detective Julia Jedwig works alone to catch the bad guys and bring justice. Two sisters, elderly blind woman Agatha Calhoun and her sister Maggie, live in a dangerous part of town where they stick together through tough times.

After shooting a druggist and store customer, Chappie, a hired killer, becomes alarmed when the newspapers report only one dead body. Detective Julia Jedwick, assigned to the case, suspects that because of the number of shots fired another person was in the store. That other person turns out to be Aggie, a blind, elderly woman who manages to stay under cover until her addicted sister needs more drugs.

The story unfolds where the air is thick with tension and secrets. The atmosphere crackles with the whispers of danger. Mule, a professional killer, is hired to eliminate Armand Ascalon, a druggist threatening the city's underworld. Detective Julia Jedwig is a lone wolf in her pursuit of justice. Agatha Calhoun, an elderly blind woman, and her sister Maggie live in a precarious neighborhood, their bond unyielding amidst life's challenges.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
