Blizzard of Terror

Description

The strains of a troubled marriage are forcefully shown in the tension-filled atmosphere of a remote mountain cabin, as a man claiming to be a killer intrudes upon a snowbound couple. The man's ruse is finally disclosed by him as a means of forcing the couple to face their problems and renew their love.

Driving home from a skiing weekend, Jim and Helen are caught in a blizzard and hear on their car radio that police are looking for the ax-murderer of an entire family. They manage to make it to a mountain cabin, the kitchen of which is splattered with blood. The couple soon convince themselves that the owner is Jake Morgan, the man whom the police are looking for.

A married couple with serious problems gets snowed in at an isolated mountain cabin, where a stranger shows up claiming to be a murderer. The tense situation eventually reveals that the man is lying - he was actually trying to help the husband and wife work through their troubles and fall in love again.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
