Description
Laura Burton, who is chronically sick, suddenly discovers her spiritual body separated from her physical one. In this new spiritual realm, she experiences peacefulness and deep internal satisfaction. She likes this state of being until she realizes that it causes pain for others; she sees her husband weeping over her inert body and her daughter, whom she hasn’t seen in months, rushing to her bedside. Laura realizes she must decide which is better—life or death.
Laura Burton fights for her life while seriously sick. Her scared husband Robert tries hard to contact their daughter Susan, who they haven't spoken to in years. When Laura loses consciousness, she meets her dead mother in a peaceful place filled with golden light.
This poignant drama depicts the struggle between life and death, which Laura Burton faces as she lies gravely ill. Her husband Robert, haunted by the fear of losing her, tries desperately to reach their estranged daughter Susan. As Laura drifts into unconsciousness, she encounters her deceased mother in a serene world of golden light.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
