Bound East for Haiti

Description

Dr. Philip Armstead, just out of medical school, boards the tramp steamer Molly Moran for a four-week voyage in the Caribbean. After a few days at sea, the ship’s captain, Pete Johnson, soon to marry a beautiful native girl, Lily, suddenly becomes ill. Dr. Armstead is unable to help him, but Lily realizes that the first mate, Buku Chinn, an Arawak Indian who also loves her, has cast a spell on the captain. She knows he will die unless she can somehow break the evil spell.

A crew member on a merchant ship tries to use dark magic against his captain so he can take the captain's woman for himself.

On a commercial voyage, a sailor attempts to curse his captain with black magic to steal the girlfriend for himself.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
