Conquest of Fear
Description
Elizabeth Welch, being chauffeured through the Pyrenees Mountains in order to be on time for her wedding in Madrid, is taken prisoner by bandits who demand a ransom of $100,000. Elizabeth recognizes the bandit leader as one of Spain's great bullfighters who, she says to his face, must have become a bandit because of his fear of the bulls. An accusation like this, she knows, could mean a bullet in her pretty head.

American movie star Elizabeth Welch gets taken by gun-carrying criminals in the Spanish mountains who want big money for her return, but she discovers her kidnapper's hidden fears behind his violent ways and learns why the outlaw gang stays loyal to each other.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
