Daddy’s Girls
Description
At a New York newspaper, gossip writer Clara could lose everything when people say she broke the rules. After her boss Loomis turns up dead, Detective Bennett thinks Clara did it, but she must sort through her lies before telling her sister Mary the truth - that she killed Loomis to protect herself.
Clara’s gossip column is a force to be feared. Her invalid sister Mary puts up with it, even though Clara’s unprincipled reporting would make their straight laced father roll over in his grave. When Clara’s publisher Bob Loomis is found murdered, Mary suspects Clara knows more than she admits to and that father’s strict teaching will overcome the gossiper’s instincts.
In a New York newspaper office, a sharp-tongued gossip columnist, Clara, faces ruin after being accused of unethical practices. When her publisher Loomis is found dead, Detective Bennett suspects Clara, who has a web of lies to unravel before she can confess to her sister Mary that she killed Loomis in self-defense.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
