Description
A man with a secret illness that could kill him fights his own terror and fixation, but when he discovers that even trust can break, the ultimate truth destroys him.
David Jensen, who is recovering from a simple posterior infarction, reads all the books he can find on heart disease and soon convinces himself that he will die, at any moment, from a massive aneurysm, the bursting of the aortic artery at a crucial spot. His doctor assures him this will not happen, but Jensen accuses him of lying, claiming that the doctor visited him one night at home to warn him about the aneurysm.
A man whose life hangs by a thread from a hidden ailment struggles against fear and obsession, and when he finds that trust, too, is fragile, he is crushed by the final revelation of truth.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
