Death Pays No Dividend
Description
Certain they'll be jailed for misjudgment of funds, three partners of a Wall Street firm plot their own deaths. If they commit suicide, their wives can collect no life insurance so they make a contract with a professional killer to shoot them. After one has been killed, the other two and their secretary learn of an old investment in a gold stock that can cover the firm's losses. But how can they stop the killer, whom they've never seen, from completing his contract?
Three Wall Street business partners think they will go to prison for losing money, so they plan to have themselves killed. They cannot kill themselves because then their wives would get no insurance money, so they hire a professional killer to shoot them. After the killer shoots one partner, the other two men and their secretary find out about an old gold investment that can pay back all the money they lost. But now they need to stop the killer they have never met from killing the rest of them.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
