Diamond Cut Woman

Description

A rich English gentleman and his assistant have fun with the fancy lifestyle and thrills of Monte Carlo, but their good time gets ruined when a strange fortune-teller appears to be trying to trick them. The two men can't figure out how the fortune-teller is so good at knowing what will happen in their lives.

A wealthy Englishman and his secretary enjoy the luxuries and excitement of Monte Carlo, until their pleasure is interrupted by a mysterious fortune-teller who seems to be running a swindle on them. The men are puzzled by the fortune-teller's uncanny ability to predict events in their lives.

Sir Charles Vandrift, who has made a fortune in diamonds, is attracted during a stay on the French Riviera by a woman who constantly wins at roulette. She tells Sir Charles that she gets her winning numbers from a guru, Mara Mishi, who has many other remarkable powers. Sir Charles demands to be introduced to Mishi, who is known to the police as the slippery Colonel Clay, a master swindler. The colonel finds Sir Charles a most gullible victim—not once, but twice.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
