Don’t Kill Me

Description

A devoted wife struggles with her husband's debilitating illness and the temptation of a secure life with a friend. George's health takes a sudden turn, forcing Wilma to confront her impossible choice between duty and desire. She finally marries Teddy, but dreams of opulence crumble when faced with his obsession for exploration.

Wilma really couldn’t help killing husband George. All it took was walking away when the sick man’s breathing stopped. And besides, she got to marry rich Ted in the bargain. But Ted whisks her away to the Amazon, where he is searching for lost civilizations and where she contracts a wasting illness for which she is dependent on Ted for medicine to keep her alive just as George once depended on her.

A loyal woman faces her sick husband's worsening condition while being drawn to the safety offered by another man. When George's illness suddenly gets worse, Wilma must decide between staying faithful to her duty or following what she wants. She ends up marrying Teddy, but her hopes for a wealthy life fall apart when she discovers his passion for adventure and discovery.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
