Dr. Peterson’s Pills

Description

Dr. Emery Peterson, early in his career, had given up all hope of saving a dying boy. Off-handedly, he had muttered he would sell his soul to the devil in order to cure the youth. Miraculously, the boy survived, and now, 25 years later, the devil, in the form of attractive Nicky Bell, demands that the doctor live up to his end of the bargain. Not only does she want his soul, she wants all of him, even though he is a happily married middle-aged man.

Twenty-five years ago, young doctor Emery Peterson watched a boy dying and felt helpless. Without thinking, he said he would trade his soul to the devil to save the kid's life. The boy got better against all odds. Now the devil has come to collect, appearing as a beautiful woman named Nicky Bell. She wants Peterson to keep his promise and give her his soul - and everything else about him - even though he's now a happy married man in his middle years.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
