Every Dog Has His Day

Description

The Rokesby family saga continues from the death of the squire to the unexpected inheritance of Whiskey the dog. The two sons, Bishop and Beauregard, strive for control of the estate, as the loyal servant Chadworth and the lawyer Tremaine try to keep the peace. But Bishop's crafty schemes lead to tragedy and a ghostly climax.

After the squire dies, his dog Whiskey gets the inheritance nobody saw coming. The squire's two sons, Bishop and Beauregard, fight to control the family estate while faithful servant Chadworth and lawyer Tremaine work to stop the trouble. Bishop's sneaky plans end in disaster and a spooky finale.

Disappointed by his two sons—Bishop, whose only interest is making money, and Beauregard, who can only spend it—Squire Rokesby has just his dog, Whiskey, and his servant, Chadsworth, to console him. In fact, just before the squire’s death, Bishop forces his father into willing the entire estate to him. Beauregard soon, accuses Bishop of deceiving and then murdering their father. Whiskey ends the family feud by making sure each son gets what is coming to him.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
